En examen físico Rocky se encontró que estaba débil sin fuerza para incorporarse, emaciado (demasiado delgado, sin músculo), con hypothermia, pálido, con infección severa de la boca y pus que salía de las encías. En el CBC Rocky salió con anemia y hemoglobina en 2.4. También salió positivo a Ehrlichia canis y fallo renal. Debido a su deterioro físico avanzado, debilidad, anemia severa, fallo renal, enfermedad de Ehrlichia, lo cual le daba un prognosis pobre, se recomendó eutanizar a Rocky.
